Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and songwriter. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by a lot of Americans. When she attended a 9th grade school audition, where she was praised for her voice as she built confidence. The event not only helped to boost her confidence, but also changed her outlook on the future. The 22-year-old graduated with an education from the Julliard School in New York. At the age of 23 she began her career making her first appearance on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot She played the role of Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as critical praise. The following year she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. Apart from having a cult following as a singer, she released a solo as well as an extended version. She's also an activist who is a tireless advocate for LGBT rights.
