Decker was a country singer who believed herself to be a country musician in the past, was surprised that her album was not promoted or focused on a mainstream audience. Decker launched her sophomore album with two titles: Sweet American Dreams or Daughter of a Gypsy. Mercury put it on hold following the initial three singles failed to make it onto the country charts. Decker then was let out of the contract.
