Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her career working with well-known directors and actors in film and on television. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently filming on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who created Hamilton is directing the musical. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over a Century. Ashford was a part of two seasons in the CBS hit comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. The actress has also performed on Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original role as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for an Tony Award. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
